ISF Enforcement

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials have recently voiced their intentions to the trade industry of its plans to move forward with its enforcement of 10+2, including Importer Security Filings (ISF).

CBP continues to contact those that are not filing, or are committing egregious errors. Such shipments are subject to non-intrusive inspections (NII) at additional costs to the importer.

CBP stated that it will be moving into the liquidated damages phase of its 10+2 enforcement as soon as within the next few months of 2011, after certain programming has been completed. CBP said that there will be no major announcement to the trade when the first claim is actually issued.

If your company requires assistance with filing of ISF, or if you have any questions, please contact your nearest JJB representative.
